The Thermals formed in 2002 and dropped their debut More Parts Per Million the following year. The band’s vivacious pop-punk ditties garnered the attention of one Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) and their career gained further momentum with 2004’s F*ckin' A, their first album for Sub Pop (and our personal favorite). more at austinist.com

Musically, this Portland, Ore., band's fourth album, `Now We Can See,' is miles away from the manic punk clamor of their 2003 debut - it's relatively polished and occasionally midtempo - but in spirit the group has barely budged. more at www.austin360.com

The Thermals play fuzzy, frantic, no-fi garage rock that rants and rages. It also proves significantly more charming than that might suggest, thanks in large part to an ear for hooks and melodies that make good on the momentum they stem from. more at austin.decider.com
