OK, I am with Do512 and just read all of your comments. Sorry for those who did not have a good time, but the ones who were able to get in the party did have a great time. Please note the instructions when planning to attend a free event like this. And yes, note that it was a free event. Next time, arrive earlier. Plan better. From the way things went down, it appears all the cool people did get in and I am not sure we would have wanted the crowd in the parking lot to be at the party. That crowd in the parking lot was an unruly bunch and would have roont the party.

I rsvp'd last week, loaded up a cooler for me and 2 friends, drove out planning on waiting awhile and sweated in the Texas heat for about 1 hr,I knew there would be a wait but what the hell its free, Managed to catch a shuttle and hiked up to the gate, and BAM in your face over the top friggin party,Stood in line for maybe 5 minutes for beers ,then started exploring, amazing house, great grazing food, lots and lots, and lots of beers later, ate some bugs, did the wind tunnel, partied with the owners and staff, drank more, did the slide, did the slide again, drank more ,Discovered I like Dos XX,saw the bugs, danced, was blown away by the lights on the castle with the music, went and sat on a rock by myself just to soak it in, I found myself just going omg I am friggin partying at the coolest place ever.I feel really bad for the people who didn't get in.I saw them on my way out, talked to a few and man were they pissed, could have been handled better by the planners, but who would have known how many people wanted to come to a castle party. Pro's The site The music The lights (omg) The food The beer Cons The heat The wait The crowds The cow patties All in all from my experience the best party I have been to!!!

To whom it may concern, I RSVP'd for this event last monday and showed up at waterloo park for a shuttle at 4:30 only to wait in line 2 hours for people to tell us another bus would be on the way in an hour. Rather than wait another hour to be put on a shuttle, a group of 6 of us decide to drive our cars out to the event location. Before leaving we made sure to ask the staff if we could sign in at the door which they assured us we could. We drove the hour to Burnet, Texas only to be told when we got to the event to drive back home because they were not admitting anyone else into this event . I arrived at this event no later than 7:45p.m. and I am infuriated at the way some of the event staff and officers hired for this event treated guests who had already RSVP'd, waited hours for busses, and or traveled in their own transportation to be at this event. This event was so poorly planned that even the charter busses carrying the people who actually waited the extra hour in Austin were not even granted admittance. Dos XX is a very established brand and I expected that having followed all the rules (RSVP'd, arrived early) I would be able to enjoy this event. Instead I took off work early to be hustled around and eventually ended up having a very dissapointing evening. This borders on me boycotting your brand as well as many other people who walked away from this event with a sour taste in their mouths. Sarita Iruegas

hiddendragon, I’m glad you had a great time, but post like yours show how misinformed and unorganized it was. I drove my self and friends and arrived at 6:30 and parked in the parking lot as instructed by police. We waited in line for 2 hours and only saw a small shuttle bus come by 2 times. If you got there after 6:30 and parked in the parking lot as I was told, you would not have got in. There were at least 800+ in line behind me and when I got to the front of the line, was told they are at capacity. The castle was only 2 miles away so I would assume a shuttle could make the loop in 15 minutes but they came by once an hour. Where did you park? Did you park by the castle? The people that got there early were told we had to park in the parking lot 2 miles away and that the only way to get in was by shuttle and we were not allowed by police to walk down the street. The people that got there late actually did better than the early people because they parked on the side of the road and walked in while we were in a huge line for hours doing what we were instructed to do. Don’t berate people on here when you got in and don’t know what we went through. Assuming we were late is wrong. I put money I was there before you. We were in a field with cow manure for hours and no shuttles coming. Isn’t 6:30 early enough?

Hi, We RSVP'ed. Went as instructed to arrive prior to 8pm and had parking and no problems. We listened to the advice that buses may be full and chose have a beautiful drive through the hill country. Those that did not RSVP or listen to the request to arrive prior to 8pm are complaining and behaving like whining partycrashers. It was a very well coordinated event considering the overwhelming response. We were treated like royalty from the get go by Dos Equis, Falkenstein Castle staff, and the law enforcement. It was a fantastic event. Don't blame them for the complaints of late comers and party crashers. I mean seriously. We did as instructed and it was incredibly awesome and everything they said. Free deliscious food, beer, beverages, music, activities, a great crowd, light show, etc...people should be ashamed to say anything against those that threw such a great...FREE event. I mean really. Quit Whining because you didn't get in due to time inconsiderations and your poor lack of planning, not heeding warnings, etc, not those that threw the event! ~A very pleased couple of partygoers that planned ahead and had a blast! Thank you DO512, RARE Magazine, and Dos Equis for allowing us to take part in such a cool, FREE, and fun event....we of the few thankful and appreciative crowd....we appreciate what you all handed us on a silver platter....so sorry others don't...

glad i didn't go. was gonna have my birthday celebration there, but after i saw the epic proportions of RSVP's and only 6-9 buses to get people there, i laughed and said 'forget it.' we had an amazing time in nearly-deserted downtown at Creekside and Shangrila.

I love to wait in line for about 4 hours. It was really great to be that thirsty, and have no bathroom to go to. I am happy that I didn't drink even one beer and the sun and the heat were great. Sunburn is the new vogue and sweat smells better than perfume. I could not have been doing anything better with. Thank you 2X (dos equis).

This was the most poorly planned event in the history of Hill Country parties. The wasted gas, time, hopes of enjoyment... I am taken aback by the oversight by the promoters in failing to contact area authorities about the event. We arrived early enough to see the hoards of "rsvp'd" people getting turned away by Sheriffs that were blind-sided by this event. I was #384 (or there abouts) on the RSVP (which allowed +1) and was unable to attend. How the heck did the event staff imagine this would pan out?! Horrible horrible horrible. This should make way for "The Not Quite Interesting but Overwhelmingly Justified Class Action Suit" so many of us can gather our lost funds spent on gas, food, etc..

I arrived at Waterloo at 4:45, walked past hundreds of people to the end of the line, didn't see anyone getting on a bus by 5, and found another ride out. Got to the castle about 6, waited until pasture #2 was opened and parked by 6:15. Was finally turned away about 8:30, at the front of the shuttle line, while the earlier 3 shuttles were returning to drop off the people they'd just picked up because the gates were locked due to capacity. I plan to get a statement from Dos XX even if I have to work my way through the org chart on the phone. What's a few more hours wasted, when at least I'm not sweating my ass off in cowshit? If you'd like answers too, please join the Facebook group, and get your friends who attended to do so too, so Dos XX can see how many of us there are: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=118964565208

This was the worst event I have ever been to. It was not organized at all. The people at XX did a really BAD job. The only thing they did right was getting 1000+ people out into the middle of no where and getting them stranded. ohh.. and this RSVP thing was a joke.. it didn't matter if you were RSVP. It seemed like no one was really getting in. Good JOB XX!

If I could do this all over again I would have hiked from you cow pasture I was stranded at, through the woods, and up the hill to the castle.... Once there I would have shat on the front lawn...That might have been more fun.

wow .... what a waste of my life ... the "Happy Hour" was not at its orignial location, so i wasted money on a meter ... then, went to the correct location for the "Happy Hour" and again nothing ... so my friend and i head over to Waterloo park and wait for 2 hours in the hot ass sun with no water no nothing!!! yeah there was a water fountain that looked like it was the local homeless peoples bathroom ... so after they suggest we drive out there ... we are turned away at the castle ... what bull crap!! I am making sure to remove all Dos XX products out of my department ... i have never seen such poor planning ever ... i personlly plan to ask as many friends, family, co-workers, class mates, old high school friends and anyone else i can, to NEVER drink this piss again .... Plus green glass is crap

I arrived downtown Austin early enough to get on one of the 4 buses that departed to Burnet, Tx. I had a gret time, drank lots of Amber beer, made some friends, ate some weird bugs, had some really good tender brisket, and even got a cool Henna tattoo. The Falkenstein Castle was ridiculous and so was the amount of people inside this event. This event was definitely a great way to get some exposure and really send the product out to Austinites and beyond, but the logistics of this event was poorly planned for those who missed out. Communication is the key here when you are dealing with over 1800 RSVP's, DosXX and EarthBird Music! You should've been tweeting this shit and making it known that the venue was at capacity, there should've been constant updates, representatives on hand at Waterloo to inform others who may not get in, etc. WATER shouldve been given out at Waterloo Park. You know, it makes me wonder where the hell this production company is from? Definitely not from Texas considering the event was planned RIGHT smack in the middle of the week, rush hour, and 105 degree day! Geez, get some schooling, yo. At the end of the night, my friend and I were left with about 75+ people riding back home to Austin in a tiny ass bus by a nice old lady who had the heart to take us home. The event staff at the end had no idea where they were sending people and we would've been stranded in some horrible shit town in the middle of the woods and by some big ass crazy Castle. This was the biggest disappointment for me of the night from my experience. DosXX, come back to Austin and kill it, man. You can't just let this be the impression you leave on Austinites here. You gotta read all of the comments, complaints, and compliments people are sending and plan for something BIGGER, BETTER, and invite the whole fucken city! DOSXX, let's see you do it right this next time around.

Dos XX let SO MANY people down. I don't know how they could even call this a PR success. Whoever the event planner was for this event, should be fired. How can you send out mass emails, flyers, street invites, Do512 postings, FB ads, etc. and then 1) not close the online RSVPs in time to ensure that the people who did RSVP in time have a spot (that's the whole point of an RSVP afterall!), 2) spread misinformation on the actual Do512 site wherein people are encouraged to drive their own cars, when in fact people who took the bus got preferred entry and; 3) leave people who drove 65 miles out of their way (God I shudder to think about the people who drove from San Antonio) in a crap filled cow pasture with one shuttle coming every 45 minutes to pick up, say, 35 people? 300 people waiting in the TX sun for a lift to this supposedly awesome castle party - and no one came. What a let down. Thank God for modern technogly, text messaging and the cell phone, or we would have never gotten the word that the gates were closed and no one else would be let in. Dos XX didn't even have the courtesy to send a rep or update their Do512 posting - to deliver the bad news. What I used to think was a pretty cool company, I now think sucks. I know this was supposed to be a party of "EPIC" proportions and part of that was creating this huge build-up and anticipation and throwing it at a castle. But that's also why everyone wanted to get in and that should have been planned for. Next time you want to promote your beer and throw a semi-exclusive party, don't do it 65 miles out of the way! And if you do hold it 65 miles out in the country, you better plan it to PERFECTION! If this kind of party was thrown during SXSW or in the middle of downtown Austin, then people would have clear alternatives (and other brands of beer to drink ) if they didn't get in. If you throw this kind of party out in the middle of a field in the TX country somewhere, plan it well, or people are going to be pissed. And those same people, primarily young professionals with lots of money to spend, will choose differently next time the bartender asks, "What would you like to drink?"

5 friends taking the afternoon off of work for event= $600 (in lost wages) Rent a car because event said it might be better to drive $85 Gas for 180 mile round trip $42 Parking two miles away w/ 900 other people before the 1st bus even arrives at the castle, following the rules and not trying to find an alternate route in, having no restroom facilities for 4 hours or water, being told by hired security could not leave parking lot, having 2 friends under 21 who arrived an hour after me and parking next to gates let into the event: PRICELESS

We also left early (we got out of work around 5pm and only made stops to pick up our guests, didn't stop for food, didn't stop to change out of work clothes). We got there right about 7:20 when the gates were just beginning to open. Left without food or water or porta potties until 9pm, no staff came to tell us anything this whole time. I only saw maybe two tiny shuttles come in and pick anyone up even though a lot of huge empty shuttles passed us. Groups of us were left speculating on what actually happened like a game of telephone- did they close the gates, reach capacity, or just plain forget about us? The castle was a tiny thing on the horizon from this "parking lot/field". By the time I got back to Austin it was 11PM.. I hadn't had a single drink, any food, or an "I'm sorry." I RSVP's when the count was still in the hundreds. I'm more annoyed with the fact no one told us anything in almost two hours of standing, holding our pee in a cow pasture than the fact that we didn't get in. Would one dude with a walkee talkee be too much to ask.

C'mon you guys, this party wasn't meant to be a ritzy, glamorous ordeal. If so, it would not have been free? I don't mind hiking for unlimited free beer while seeing the sun set over a hill with a castle on it. They were a little unorganized but they were just trying to throw an awesome party. Z-trip was great, the cheddar peppers over in the food area were the best I've ever had and the beer was always available. Thank you, Dos XX!

I never knew "ample parking" meant an available cow pasture 2 miles away! That doesn't mean "on sitye" to me. We waited in that cow dung invested place for over 2 hours for this mythical shuttle to come pick us up. We did just as the website said and car-pooled to "avoid the lines", what BS. There was no shuttle coming to pick us up and no communication between anybody running the event to let us know what was going on. We got their early, did everything right, and the production compay FAILED. You let way too many people RSVP for this thing and never bothered to work out the logistics AKA parking situation! I'm pissed and obviously lots of other people are too. Nice job...

Worst party put together EVERY- I don’t know what kind of promotion they really thought this was. More people are pissed off than actually had a good time. I will NEVER drink Dos Equis EVER again, at least not until they reimburse me for my time, gas money, and the shoes that got ruined standing in cow dung for 2 hours. On a side note I was one of the first 100 people to RSVP for this event so you can see how truly disappointed I am. Corporate will also be getting a letter from me but I strongly encourage everyone else to voice their option as well. They need to know just how bad they screwed up!!!!
