Texas NORML's 6th Street Smokeout is now a yearly institution for the Austin based marijuana law reform group, and this year's 4th Annual promises to be as "Austin" as you can get.  Featuring 5 local bands, a multimedia light show produced by Charles Beard, vendor booths from local head shops & artists, and food from the Mellow Mushroom, the 4th Annual 6th St Smokeout  is a "can't miss" event. Cover is only $10 ($5 for current Texas NORML members), and benefits Texas NORML's operations.

Texas NORML, the state chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, has the mission to “educate the public at large regarding cannabis law in Texas, so as to sway the popular opinion in favor of responsible change.” Basically, NORML works to spread awareness of the arguments supporting marijuana decriminalization through weekly open meetings, activist training sessions, and kick-ass events such as the Austin Reggae Fest, Bob Marley Birthday Celebration, and the Annual Sixth Street Smoke-Out!

At Momo’s this Saturday, October 17, you can show your civic pride in more ways than one at the 4th Annual Sixth Street Smoke-Out! This year, locally based Texas NORML has decided to create a truly Austin event with live performances by five quintessential local bands, vendor booths from local head shops and artists, food provided by Mellow Mushroom (yumm!), and a multimedia light show produced by Charles Beard. The featured musicians of the evening are Flounders Without Eyes, Dertybird, Champagne with Friends, Graham Wilkinson & The Underground Township, and Dubkids. All the money raised will be used to benefit the Texas NORML cause.
