Xemumba \SHEH-moom-bah\: a celebration of the many styles of music that Latin and South America have given us. This event was founded by Brandon Badillo in September of 2007, for two important causes: to bring these two styles of music together for an evening of swaying and dancing, and to raise money for his Grandpa, Francisco, in his fight against cancer.

With minimal advertising and funding, Xemumba proved to be a huge success with over 300 attendees on the special evening. Encouraged by everyone to keep the celebration going, Brandon turned it into an annual event! 10 performances, ranging from Samba to AfroCuban and Cumbia to Latin hip-hop, will take you on a well-earned vacation to Latin and South America – no plane ticket required.

Xemumba will continue to give back as it did for Francisco just two years ago, by donating a percentage of the proceeds to nonprofit organizations. This year's beneficiaries are Lupe Arte and the National Hispanic Institute.
