104082 TV Torso, PVC Street Gang, Followed By Static, DJ <p>TV Torso is Jordan Johns on percussion, Austin Jones on bass, vocals, and Matt Oliver on vox and guitar. Early press on the group has tended to fixate on both Oliver and Johns&rsquo; previous stint in Sound Team, the avant-pop outfit which dissolved after 5 years of relentless touring. TV Torso's affinity for skeletal guitar music, minimalism, and classic soul is apparent in their singles, as is their combined reverence for repetition, tape echo, recording guitar direct, and steady pulse. The instrumentation largely consists mainly of a bass, a drumkit, guitar and voice, with dashes of keyboard and tape experiments thrown in. TV Torso&rsquo;s live performances tend to adopt a more savage approach, with a lot of emphasis on Johns&rsquo; furious drumming while Oliver and Jones sing harmony over guitar and bass.
