A benefit for Austin Children's Shelter w/ SPEAK, STEREO IS A LIE, Frantic Clam and more!

On Sunday night Antone's hosts a benefit for Austin Children's Shelter, presented by: Navdo Presents, Whitesiren, and TwoGroove. There will be a photobooth by Trevor Ray Thompson, performances by SPEAK, STEREO IS A LIE, FRANTIC CLAM and more. Goodie bags will be given to the first thirty people who enter the door, including items from cream vintage, south congress athletic club, and one world theatre.

This is an ALL AGES show. Anyone under the age of 18 will pay $5 to enter the event!

Local indie art-rock group Frantic Clam count David Bowie and Talking Heads among their influences, with an approach described by Austin Sound as "swagger with edgy guitars chiming behind surging, high hitting vocals, delivering one part raucous punk energy and another part deft and often ironically twisted indie-pop gems."

The members of local rock quintet STEREO IS A LIE have each played in other bands throughout the years. Most notably, frontman Glynn Wedgewood spent time curating his former band IV Thieves. Here's what Launch787 says: "The quintet crafts a dynamic sound with one foot in smoky bars and another foot in a packed stadium, despite having only made its presence felt in Austin less than a year ago. It’s Jet without the cocky, superficial appeal, Queens of the Stone Age with more range, or Muse without the whole pre-apocalyptic fear-mongering thing, aiming more comfortably for a hybrid of alternative rock and snarling Brit-rock."

SPEAK are: Troupe Gammage (vocals/keys), Nick Hurt (guitars/vocals), Joey Delahoussaye (bass/vocals), and Jake Stewart (drums). Avid students of pop through the ages, the band distills greatness from classic and modern influences. Forever questing for innovation, SPEAK invoke timeless melodies in energetic, synth-laden anthems.
