Maxfest started off in 2007 as a celebration of our good buddy Max Baker. You know, the jolly ol guy out at live music venues handing out whittled cigar shaped pipes or healing you with his Reiki. The one that lookes like Jerry Santa Claus Garcia in overalls. In 2007, he was concerned about a lump on his neck. He made the comment that before he died, if he were to, that he wanted to see a few of his favorite bands get together and throw a great show. Thankfully, he's still alive and well. But the seed was planted for an idea that has gained four years of momentum. Max is a legend in his own time. A healer, sage, music afficianado, and all around badass. So come on out to Ruta Maya this next Feb the 5th of 2010 and celebrate the fourth annual MAXFEST! So far we have Maxfest vetrens Jabarvy, Moving Matter, and The Trim with the beautiful Meesh and her Altabiah Bellydance troup on the roster. Also, Jabarvy to release their long awaited CD 'What Any Tale May Tell You'!! Light by Synaesthesiax!
