Since his debut mash-up in 2006, Chris Rose - better known as DJ Car Stereo (Wars) - has gone from building an enthusiastic Austin fan-base to sharing the stage with Grizzly Bear, Flosstradamus, Cut Chemist, Ghostland Observatory and many more.

Friday, April 23 DJ Car Stereo (Wars) teams up with Austin boutique label Artifact Workshop to release his second full-length album, Explains It All, at the Beauty Bar in Austin. Explains it All compiles a medley of rapid-fire samples refined from over two years of live shows, performed everywhere from Austin house parties to European dance clubs to The Lollapalooza Music Festival. The end result is nothing short of a digital pop culture explosion. The album melds together hundreds of samples ranging from Joy Division to Miley Cyrus and Vampire Weekend to Three 6
Mafia. We double dare you to name them all.

The bill reads like a line of up of Austin All-Stars, featuring LCD Soundsystem tribute band All My Friends (10pm), recent Artifact Workshop alumni and one-man electro wonder Neiliyo (11pm), and an opening DJ set by Hot Britches! (11:40). As an added bonus, everyone in attendance will receive a free copy of the new hand-decorated CD. Show sponsors include Austinist, Lamebook, Do512, and Brooklyn Brewery.
