Event Details

Now that the weather is becoming stably pleasant, it’s about time for you all to make the short trip over to the Hill Country’s headquarters for outstanding live music–Nutty Brown Cafe–to catch some of the top-notch, live acts that they have lined up this month. In two Saturdays from now (on April 24th), Billboard-charting country artists Neal McCoy and Blake Shelton will be stopping by Nutty Brown to give you the opportunity to dine, dance, and listen to great music out under the Texas country stars.

As a native Texan who kicked off his music career in an R&B band, Neal McCoy (born Hubert Neal McGaughey Jr.) made the move to country music and began playing in bars and clubs across Texas way back in the 80s. After securing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1990, McCoy began cranking out albums and a reputation for exciting, “freewheeling” live shows across the country. With a highly successful third album (No Doubt About It) in ‘94, his career surged, as the album sold over a million copies and had tracks that topped the country charts for weeks. During the next decade, McCoy saw multiple singles return to top spots on the Hot Country Billboard Charts, and even though his last album endeavor was in 2005 (That’s Life), he has continued to draw the masses with his highly acclaimed concert appearances.

Playing alongside McCoy, Blake Shelton–an Oklahoma-born, Nashville transplant with a long list of Top Country hits as well–will be taking the stage on Saturday night. Testing out his song-writing skills and honing his performing style as a teen playing honky-tonk bars, Shelton made the move to Nashville in ‘94 at the ripe age of 17 (just 2 weeks out of high school) to pursue a recording career. After signing with Giant Records, he released his lead-off single “Austin” (from his self-titled debut album) in 2001, which saw immediate success, spending five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The debut album went on to become gold-certified and produced two more Top 20 hits. With the dissolution of Giant Records later that year, Shelton moved to Warner Bros. where his next two albums (The Dreamer and Shelton’s Barn & Grill) also certified gold. Over his total of seven albums released (the most recent being his second EP Hillbilly Bone in March of this year), seventeen of Shelton’s singles have charted on country charts, including six Number One hits.

Needless to say, with the opportunity to see memorable performances from two top-named country acts, this concert is going to sell out quickly!
