The Ultra8201 birthday show will be taking place this Thursday at The Parish. To make it a proper party, they booked the 6-piece dance pop group L.A.X, Love at 20, Politics, and pre-teen rockers The Redboys. The talented Alison Narro will also be on hand with her photo booth. Doors are at 9pm, cover is $8 or $6 with RSVP right here on Do512. This local love affair is sponsored by Do512, Knuckle, Rumbler, Austin Eavesdropper, Alison Narro, Sailor Legs, uLovei, The Glitoris and The Peen Scene.

L.A.X began in 2005 with Andrew Collins and Erin Jantzen as an electro duo with a fresh sound and invigorating live performance. By early 2009, the duo had grown three-fold, adding Yadira Brown (Vocals), Jon Oswald (Drums), Rory Allen Phillips (Guitar), Chris D'Annunzio (Bass), and occasionally joined by Santiago Vela (percussion). Their breakthrough performances at 2009's ACL Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest and SXSW 2010 have been followed up with a solid string of shows in Austin and other cities around Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

Love at 20 is the new project from former members of Clap Clap, who received MTVU's "best new band" award. Members of Love at 20 have produced and engineered acts like: The Sword (Austin), Iron Age (Austin), Nate Grace (Pitchfork Forkcast), Bluu Suede (American Idol Top 12 Finalist) and Cursive (Omaha, NE). Love at 20 has just completed their first full length LP to be released in early November through A Silence Productions, who's artist Listen Listen was recently featured in Rolling Stone magazine.

"Love At 20 is not a fad band that will disappear into the masses. It has the sincerity and talent to stand on it's own. "Time To Begin" contains the type of music that has the longevity to stay with you for years ahead."- sailorlegs.com

Austin’s Redboys are a unique set of brothers whose love for the classics, as well as some of today’s best making modern rock, will likely inspire great music from the two in the future. They have played some of the best venues in Austin, including Antone’s, The Parish, The Ghost Room and The Mohawk, including shows during the SXSW Music Festival in 2010. They also are part of a four-piece band, called A Flock of Spiders.

Ben Redman: 11-year old Ben has been playing drums since before he could walk. His skills were honed through classical jazz training from the age of 5. His musical inspirations include Neil Peart (RUSH), Jon Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa) and Dominic Howard (Muse). Ben also plays guitar and sings.

Max Redman: 9-year old Max Redman followed in his big brothers footsteps with music at an early age, with lessons beginning at age 6. Max’s musical influences range from Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), Jack White (White Stripes) and Matthew Bellamy (Muse). -Above The Radar
