Event Details

The Austin noise-punk quintet Coma In Algiers have been recognized by many respectable outlets. Audra Schroeder of the Austin Chronicle said "It's the kind of music that's itchy on the inside and projecting its discomfort noise with bed head and dilated pupils." Austin.com said "Coma in Algiers makes Seattle '90s grunge sound like Strawberry Shortcake", while The Onion said "it’s the Austin group’s flat-palmed approach to genre-mashing—and keyboard playing—that makes it stand out in town... it’s Coma In Algiers' willingness to be ugly that gets in your face and screams to be noticed."

John Wesley Coleman, much like that of his namesake, John Wesley Hardin, comes from a fugitive place of whiskey drinking, depravity and poor hygiene — and that’s no coincidence. Hailing from the bosom of football country, otherwise known as Irving, TX, and comprising one-fifth of Austin’s psych-country outfit the Golden Boys, Coleman is well on his way to becoming a Texas legend. -Monofonus
