Detroit/Berlin Techno Legend Releases New Full Length, Plays Learning Secrets Party 
 
In 2001 at the tender age of 18, Detroit native Jimmy Edgar’s hyper-sexed cosmic-techno caught the ear of Warp Records, where he cranked out his brand of amped-up laptop funk for the next eight years, culminating in the full-length classic “Color Strip”. Now 26, Edgar is shaking things up at German beat boutique !K7. The new album ‘XXX’ dropped on July 26th and its New Jack Swing winks as much at Minneapolis, Compton and Paris as it does Detroit or Berlin.

What Edgar does essentially, and very well, is make your body move. Incapable of standing still for very long himself, the ever-restless Edgar is eager to take his musical peep show on the road this summer. On Saturday, Sept 4th at The Beauty Bar Austinites will get their chance to have their own Edgar experience when he stops by the local, forward thinking Learning Secrets dance night.

Over the past 6 years the Learning Secrets party has become known for being an obligatory stop for artists such as Phoenix, Hot Chip, and LCD Soundsystem, as well as helping to expose Austinites to newer talents such as Annie Mac, Holy Ghost!, Classixx, Erol Alkan and Hercules & Love Affair. Their party with Jimmy Edgar on Saturday, Sept 4th marks the beginning of their Fall Line Up and the count down to ringing in their 7th year!
