Los Angeles buzz band White Arrows is led by singer, guitarist, keyboardist, and songwriter Mickey Schiff. The really interesting thing is that Schiff was blind until age 11, but started making up songs long before he learned to play an instrument. The current lineup features Steven Vernet (guitar), Rob Banks (guitar), and Mickey Schiff, as well as younger brother Henry (percussion) and half-brother, John Paul Caballero (bass.) Their influences range from tropical electronica to uptempo power pop to psychedelic rock, and their live sets turn sweaty with the kind of 70′s inspired snarl and swagger of a pscyhed-out Stooges. The group has developed a solid following among the audiences and promoters of L.A. clubs such as the Echo and Spaceland, holding the distinctive honor of being awarded a Spaceland residency in August of 2010.
