Whalers with The Julys and The Forms

With a 60′s style rock n’ roll sound, the Austin-based band Whalers have been steadily increasing their fan base after releasing their debut EP, How The Ship Goes Down. “Less is More” has been the band’s mantra, which is clearly demonstrated on their album – showcasing smooth, yet fun melodies that grow on new-listeners with every track. In a music world where auto-tune and dubstep-like tunes are increasingly all the rage, Whalers have taken the more straightforward route by giving its audience clean chords and light-poppish rock. But by doing so, the quintet is showing that that’s all they ever wanted in their music: simple, nostalgic rock n’ roll. You can catch Whalers at Lamberts for several dates throughout July (7/2, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30). The cost is only $5 bucks at the door with the show starting at 10pm.
