Join Academy Award-winning screenwriter Ted Tally for a discussion on effectively adapting novels to the screen and crafting suspense. Tally won an Academy Award, the WGA Award, and the Saturn Award for Best Screenplay in 1992 for THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, adapted from the novel by Thomas Harris.

Ted Tally began his career in Off-Broadway and regional theatre. His plays include Terra Nova, Hooters, Coming Attractions, Little Footsteps, and Silver Linings. Among his screenplays are THE FATHER CLEMENTS STORY, RED DRAGON, ALL THE PRETTY HORSES, BEFORE AND AFTER, THE JUROR, WHITE PALACE, and, of course, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Other credits include associate producer on Mission to Mars and story consultant on the animated movies SHREK 2, MADAGASCAR, and SHREK 3 (2007).

Following the conversation, Tally will present a special retrospective screening of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS with a post-screening Q&A, moderated by Alvaro Rodriquez (screenwriter - MACHETE), in the Spirit Theater of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS was included on the most recent list of 'Films to be Preserved' in the National Film Registry.

Tickets to just the screening are $5.
