Although new to stand up comedy, Lashonda Lester has been working in
show business for more than 20 years. Her comedic material draws on
her various crazy life adventures, including working in pro wrestling,
politics, and everything in between.
Originally from Detroit, she relocated to Austin, Texas in 2004 where
she was looking for a new start. After living in Austin for 4 yrs she
still didn't know a lot of people and initially tried comedy as a way
to meet new people. It only took 4 months for her to win her first
comedy competition (Kick Butt Comedy Tournament) and in a span of three
years Lashonda has been on the cover of the Austin Chronicle, opened for
SNL alum Finesse Mitchell, BET Comic View hosts Earthquake and Rickey
Smiley as well as Grammy award winning band Earth, Wind & Fire for ACL
Live.
In 2009, she wrote, produced and performed her hit one woman show
"Shondee Superstar: This Sh!t Really Happened!" to rave reviews.
Currently Lashonda produces and hosts a new live biography
series called "Weird! True Hollywood Tales." When she is not performing comedy, she enjoys reading
history books, spending time with her family and buying stupid items
on eBay and returning them.
