Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s. Since then, she has achieved phenomenal commercial success while continuing to write songs that are notably succinct and understated. Often cerebral but also streetwise, her lyrics invite multiple interpretations. April 2012 marks the 25th anniversary of her remarkable and influential album “Solitude Standing,” and many of Austin’s finest singer-songwriters will pay homage by performing some of their – and your – favorite Vega compositions.
