W Happenings, In Partnership with the Sessions, Presents “Living Room Live” with the Wheeler Brothers on April 30thEvening to feature all night happy hour specials and live music by the Wheeler BrothersIn-tune with W’s passion for music, W Austin will open its Living Room to the public for an evening of live music by buzzed about local musicians. Free and open to the public, the event features all night happy hour “S.I.P” (Social Interactive Playtime) specials. The S.I.P. menu includes a variety of $5 bites and libations as well as $3 American beer. Live music begins at 8:00 pm with Texas folk band, the Wheeler Brothers.Emerging as one of the most exciting bands breaking out of Texas, this five-piece act composed of Austin natives combines the gutsy indie vibe of the modern central Texas music scene with the longing strains of time-honored Texas folk. Brothers Nolan, Tyler and Patrick Wheeler met Danny Matthews at LSU where they spent their afternoons picking guitars and swapping stories in the bar rooms of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Once back in Austin, the group rounded out their sound with the addition of a lifelong friend, guitarist A.J. Molyneaux. Each member brings his own musical direction and ideas to the group, through precise vocal harmonies and a unique cast of instruments. Wheeler Brothers have created a sound that places their name securely at the forefront of the Austin music scene.Wheeler Brothers are recent winners of five Austin Music Awards, including Best New Band, Best Roots Rock, Best Bass Player, Best Acoustic Guitar and Best Lap Steel Player. The band has been touring the country relentlessly since June 2011, highlighted by an appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly.
