The Playhouse Project

Starting on April 30, 2012, Skillpoint Alliance will be auctioning off 5 custom Playhouses designed by leading, local architects and built by 2011 & 2012 Gateway Construction Tech students. There will also be a number of other great items to choose from.

Proceeds from the auction will raise money for our Workforce Development Programs which train unemployed and under-served members in the Central Texas community in a variety of disciplines. Skillpoint's goal is to provide the training necessary for a successful career while also encouraging economic growth in Central Texas.

The construction classes are just one of many that Skillpoint has available. Some of the others are nursing, office administration, accounting, plumbing, electrical, and computer skills. Hundreds of people take part in these classes and we have been able to help a majority of them find stable, good paying jobs.

Our success is amazing to see especially with the economy the way it has been for the past few years. Even though we have a lot of success, we are not able to provide enough classes to meet the demand in our community, let alone the communities outside the Austin city limits. Our goal is to be able to expand to new areas while also opening up more classes in our current locations. 

We are dreaming big in a time when most non-profits are slashing programs. Help us achieve our goal by supporting Project Playhouse through a sponsorship, donations, or participating in the auction.
