Relief Printmaking with Ryan Cronk

This class will introduce students to relief printmaking,
one of the most basic and rewarding forms of
printmaking, through the making of linoleum
prints. Multicolor and monochromatic prints will be
created throughout the class. Class participants
will also learn about the history of relief printmaking
in Mexico, from the Olmecs to Jose Guadalupe
Posada and Leopoldo Mendez, and how print
has influenced different communities in Texas and
beyond. Demonstrations will include inking, cutting
of blocks, registration, hand printing and printing
with the use of a printing press. Participants will gain
knowledge needed to complete new works.
*Class needs minimum of 5 participants to make.
Registration closes on Thursday, June 7th at 5pm.
