"He is the greatest country artist of our times." ~Rolling Stone. As a singer, songwriter, remarkable musician, bandleader and historian, Merle Haggard is a living legend, known as ‘the poet of the common man’. In addition to the 40 #1 hits and scores of top ten songs including "Mama Tried," "Silver Wings" and "Sing Me Back Home," Merle has won just about every music award imaginable. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and was recently honored at the Kennedy Center. Merle's latest album "Working In Tennessee" (released October 2011) is a collection of self-penned Haggard riches, a couple of classics made famous by Johnny Cash, as well as a new version of Merle's stalwart "Workin' Man Blues" featuring Willie Nelson and Merle's son Ben Haggard.
