The Iron Giant

Austin Film Festival and the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum present the “Made in Texas Family Film Series,” a program of family films made by Texas based filmmakers or filmed in Texas, sponsored by the Texas Film Commission.

AFF is thrilled to bring one of the greatest animated films of all time back to the big screen when we present THE IRON GIANT. Directed by Brad Bird (THE INCREDIBLES, RATATOUILLE) and featuring the voice talents of Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr., and Vin Diesel, this heartwarming film follows a young boy named Hogarth who rescues a huge robot that has rocketed to earth from space. As the boy and the robot become friends, Hogarth finds himself protecting the genial giant from a nosey government agent and the military.

Writer Tim McCanlies (SECONDHAND LIONS) will be in attendance for a Q&A.

All screenings are presented in the TSHM’s beautiful Texas Spirit Theater at 3:00 PM the first Saturday of each month from June – August. Admission is free!
