8:30 pm Oh Look OutOn Oh Look Out's debut album Alright Alright Alright Alright Alright, the band's geek-inspired power-pop is a blast of alternately sincere and tongue-in-cheek fun. Their liveperformance of the material from the album is perhaps even more entertaining. -Stephen Carradini
10:00 pm Bali YaaahBali Yaaah has a droning 60's psychedelia approach to 80's synth pop. Think love childbetween Velvet Underground and Depeche Mode. A fusion of deep fuzzy organs, syncopated drum machines, dubbed out bass, and blazing guitars, this trio establishesan enticing wall of dark dreamy sound. Driven by band leader and organist Chris Brown(Space Invader Orchestra), complimented by guitarist Jonas Hodges (Blase Faire, X=X)and bassist Alan Uribe (Sub Oslo, Tacks, the boy disaster, and Charanga Cakewalk)together, the band evokes an alluring blend of dark synth-pop, and art rock.Rhythmically, the group's influences come from around the world. Hints of African,Asian, and Latin traditions provide the backbone to many of the group's familiar, yetforeign compositions. All shows are FREE on the beautiful rooftop deck of 219 West, located on West 6th Streetnext to the former Momo’s and Katz Deli.612 West 6th Streethttp://goo.gl/maps/K5zx
