On Friday, July 20th Mexic-Arte Museum, the Official Mexican and Mexican American Fine Art Museum of Texas will unveil two exhibitions, Young Latino Artists 17: Grafficanos

and Serie Project XIX

 

WhatGrafficanos presents Latino graphic artwork influenced by the graffiti art genre. James Huizar, curator of YLA 17, has selected eight visual artists from Mexico, California, and Texas:  Daniel Anguilu, Eddie Castro, Jellyfish Colectivo, Antonio Diaz, Miguel Donjuan, Saner, Dsek, and Niz.

In conjunction with Grafficanos the Mexic-Arte Museum presents Serie Project XIX in the annex gallery. Each year, the Serie Project selects 10 to 18 artists through a juror system and invites them to participate in its AIR (artist in residency) program. The Mexic-Arte Museum is the official archive of each serigraph print produced by the Serie Project, and the completed serigraph prints of each year’s suite are exhibited annually at the Mexic-Arte Museum.
