PHOTOS: The 2012 Quesoff

Today, the twitterverse has revealed the identities of the judges for this weekend’s Quesoff competition at The Mohawk in Austin. An elite group of cheese aficionados and brie sommeliers from Austin, Texas will show their faces for the first time ever, in honor of this historical moment in cheese. Drumroll, please - Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Alamo Drafthouse Owner Tim League, Comedian Matt Bearden, Austin-American Statesman Restaurant Critic Matthew Odam, and CultureMap Austin Senior Editor Mike Graupmann comprise this year’s esteemed panel of judges. 

The 2012 Quesoff takes place at The Mohawk this Saturday (5-8pm) - there is no cover but getting there early is highly recommended! You’ll get to sample queso made by defending champs (Thomas Lombardi / Veggie and Frank / Meaty) as well as a slew of returning and new challengers including Papi Tino’s, Kerbey Lane, Bacon, Red’s Porch, and Cuatro’s. This year, the Quesoff champion receives two tickets to this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest and free entry into the World Cheese Dip Competition in Little Rock, Arkansas.
