Details for the 9th Annual Bat Fest are right here!

Everybody knows we have bats hanging out under the Congress Ave. bridge. Did everybody know we totally have a festival in honor of all those bats hanging out underneath the Congress Ave. bridge? Well, we do.

Saturday, August 25, the 8th Annual Batfest will kick off at 5 pm with live music, over 75 arts and crafts vendors, awesome food, activities for the kids, a bat costume contest AND bats! An estimated 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats will make their usual bug-eating flight from under the bridge at dusk. Yes, the bats can be touristy, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. So don’t be that guy that’s too cool to celebrate our awesome bat infested bridge.

This is a free event with the opportunity to purchase VIP tickets that will get you some free drinks and swag. Music from VallejoAlpha RevThe Black & White YearsThe Soldier Thread and several more will be playing on two stages from 5 pm ’til midnight. Kayaks are available to rent for the event from Congress Avenue Kayaksat the Waller Creek Boathouse. Book now and get an awesome view of the bats!

Parking will be available a the Palmer Events Center Garage at S. 1st and Riverside and at the One Texas Center at 505 Barton Springs Rd. Ride the bus, ride your bike, save the world and see some bats.
