Mandola’s Italian and Trattoria Lisina are holding their 3rd Annual Bocce Ball tournament, benefiting the Burke Center for Youth. The tournament is a recreational event centered on the fun and joy of the Italian culture. The first place team wins an all-expense paid trip to Italy, spending 2 nights in each city—Rome, Florence and Venice. The winner will also be provided train tickets and half-day tours at each stop. Not a pro? Not a problem. Bocce Ball clinics are offered at the Mandola’s Italian restaurants, Triangle and Arbor Trails locations from October 15th to October 25th as well as at Trattoria Lisina.
The Burke Center for Youth is a nonprofit organization formed in 1973 to care for Texas children who are removed from their home environments due to abuse, neglect, or problems with the law. Participation in this Bocce Tournament will help these children get the services they need to be adopted. These are children that belong to no one, and yet, they belong to all of us.
More than sixty teams are expected to compete. The Semi-Finals will take place on Saturday, October 27th with the top teams advancing to the Finals all taking place at Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood, Texas.
“I am so very proud that we donated more than $4,000 from this event in 2010,” said Damian Mandola “and hope to raise even more from this year’s event.
Mandola’s Italian and Trattoria Lisina are known for their imported wines from Italy, breads, sausages, pasta, gelato and traditional homemade Italian cooked dishes.
