Grand Opening of the new East Side King in the Hole in the Wall!
This Saturday at the Hole in the Wall, vocalist Arum Rae (formerly lead singer of White Dress), will captivate the audience with her sultry, smoky voice and melancholy original tunes at the Hole in the Wall. Rae has previously shared the stage with the likes of the Black Keys, Peter Bjorn & John, Gary Clark Jr., The Civil Wars and more.
Rae’s performance this Saturday will also coincide with the Grand Opening of Austin’s favorite Asian fusion food trailer, Eastside King, (which is AWESOME), so bring your appetite.
The show is free and starts at 9pm
From Covert Curiosity:
White Dress, who apparently played their final show
a few days ago, was a band from Austin led by vocalist Arum Rae
Valkonen. Most of the time she was joined by Grant Van Amburgh on the
drums, and Basin Alders on guitar and everything else. The group got off
to a quick start in 2009 - playing the Austin City Limits Music
Festival in only their fourth gig ever - filling in for Terri Hendrix. In
their short and relatively under-the-radar career, White Dress shared
the stage with the likes of Dan Auerbach and Theophilus London, and was
invited on tour with Gary Clark Jr.
Though it seems she is done creating and performing music under the name
White Dress, I doubt this is the last we hear of Arum Rae. I imagine
she has a few things cooking that we will find out about soon.
Late last month White Dress was invited to join Laurie Gallardo and company's Good Music Club,
a live concert taping and web video series featuring up-and-coming
bands from Austin, TX. Currently, the videos are debuted each week on KUT radio’s website and the Austin Chronicle’s Earache! music blog. The series of videos is available for viewing at vimeo.com/thegoodmusicclub.
