Motown On Mondays ATX!

WHO: A new Motown inspired dance party is being exported directly from San Francisco to Austin on Monday, Dec. 3rd at Frank. (The warehouse district's purveyor of fine sausages, beer and music) DJ Coolhands, proprietor of Friends of Sound records, and DJ B Sears (The New Day) have teamed up with the multi-city MOM DJs (SF, LA, NYC) crew to bring a serious soul shaking Monday weekly. 

WHAT: Three and half years ago DJ Gordo Cabeza's humble idea to bring the music of Motown and its relatives took root at a small venue in San Francisco. He wanted to pay homage to the sound that his mother raised him on. After one year it blossomed into an incredible soul dance party with all of SF's industry folks lining up to get in. Since its inception many of the nation's greatest tastemakers have touched down to rock a set at a MOM party. (Spinna, Shortkut, Vinroc, et al.) It was soon realized that the vibrations could not be confined to one venue let alone one city. They unfurled their unique blend of Motown, soul, funk, disco and HEAVY ORIGINAL REMIXES to Los Angeles and New York, with special events in Honolulu. After Coolhands and B Sears visited SF this past summer and took control of the decks at a MOM SF Monday they insisted that Austin be the next branch of the ever growing family soul tree.
