DOLLY WOULD
Choreographed/Directed by Zenobia Taylor
We've all been faced with life's burning questions: Will I ever meet my true love? Is there such a thing as forgiveness? What do I do if a bear attacks? Let us answer these questions with another burning question, "What would Dolly do?"
Welcome to Dolly Would, a dance/theatre work set entirely to the music of Ms. Dolly Parton. In it, seven characters stumble, fight and dance their way through a series of obstacles, searching for love, happiness and a little peace and quiet. And with the help of Dolly, they just might find it.
Tickets: $10 online, $12 - $20 at the door
Here’s what the Austin Chronicle had to say about Dolly Would...
“Dolly Parton would be proud…Taylor's choreography is nimble and creative: The dancers leap off the back wall, flip upside down, sashay, and straddle each other in smartly envisaged moves. Secondly, they are so expressive, so sassy, and so willing to do backward rolls on a cold, concrete floor, you can't help but love them. Consistent with a line from the show, they all seem to say, "I've got the power of Dolly in me."

About the Getalong Gang Performance Group:
Founding members Spencer Driggers, Michael Federico, Zenobia Taylor, and Aspen Taylor created a friendly monster last year in The Getalong Gang Performance Group. This little chimera places itself directly in the line of fire between the armies of The Theater and The Dance. What results is an artistically nutritious stew that tastes like heaven. The Getalong Gang challenges the hearts and minds of its audience while showing them a great night out, as well. The company marked its debut performance at last year’s Frontera Fest with a modern dance showcase entitled The Candy Dish, and went on to wow Austin with five more original shows including Talent Show 1989 and Ben Franklin: A Rock Opera.
Named one of “10 companies that are charging up Austin theatre" by the Austin Chronicle.
