Everyone at the Alamo office knows that my real motivation for the whole Music Mondays series was to build up enough street cred showing movies about the likes of Captain Beefheart and Gil Scott-Heron that eventually I could program an entire night of just JOURNEY videos (unlike recent converts from the former "irony" camp, I have never stopped believing). If I could describe the sound of Journey in just one word, that word would have to be "triumphant". So come down to the Alamo for one night only of what I consider to be a very personal triumph, because the world has finally come around and given in to its long-repressed love of Journey. We'll start off with the incomprehesible JOURNEY ESCAPE Atari game competition (before showtime, as pre-show entertainment), we'll have the amazing local Journey cover band ODYSSEY playing live, and most importantly, we'll have an amazing Total Journey Experience onscreen, with special clips between the videos telling the story of Journey and their importance in pop culture and movies.
