Featuring Dennis Quaid (INNERSPACE, JAWS 3-D) as a prescient but ignored paleoclimatologist (a guy who studies old weather) who tries to warn the world about impending meteorological doom. When no one listens to him he enlists the help of a more modern weather dude, played by Ian Holm (Bilbo from LORD OF THE RINGS, Ash from ALIEN). Jake Gyllenhaal (DONNIE DARKO, BUBBLE BOY) plays Quaid's brooding son, who gets trapped in NYC during a freak summer snowstorm along with homeless guy Glenn Plummer (SPEED 2, SAW 2, GO FOR BROKE 2, MENACE 2 SOCIETY) and a cast of forgettable extras. Liberals and smart people will cry with joy during the awesome apology scene delivered by a Dick Cheney-lookalike asshole Vice President. If I could describe the sound of Journey in just one word, that word would have to be "triumphant". So come down to the Alamo for one night only of what I consider to be a very personal triumph, because the world has finally come around and given in to its long-repressed love of Journey. We'll start off with the incomprehesible JOURNEY ESCAPE Atari game competition (before showtime, as pre-show entertainment), we'll have the amazing local Journey cover band ODYSSEY playing live, and most importantly, we'll have an amazing Total Journey Experience onscreen, with special clips between the videos telling the story of Journey and their importance in pop culture and movies. Lacking the abilities needed to attend hero classes, Will falls in with the misfit sidekicks, whose only powers include turning into a guinea pig, glowing, and melting. However, when an old villain with a new power reappears on the scene, the pressure is on Will and his sidekicks to save his parents, his school, and the earth itself. Perhaps as a tribute to the classic era of teen films, SKY HIGH features a soundtrack bursting with 1980s hits covered by contemporary artists, including Flashlight Brown, Bowling for Soup, and Vitamin C. The film also features performances that will please adult viewers, including a cameo as the school principal by former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter, comedian Dave Foley as a washed up sidekick, and EVIL DEAD star Bruce Campbell as Coach Boomer.
