This evening, Johnny Winter celebrates the life of his band’s original drummer, Texas blues legend Uncle John Turner. Turner, 62, died Thursday from complications of hepatitis C.
Turner and Winter met in Port Arthur when Winter was a teen. Tommy Shannon played bass in the original lineup. Winter’s ability to meld classic country blues with electric blues-rock is unmatched.
