As John Edwards’ wife and one of his closest advisers, Elizabeth Edwards has done much to boost her husband’s presidential campaign, including a recent public excoriation of Ann Coulter that made her something of a liberal hero, even among those whose feelings toward her husband are still undefined. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 (she is still undergoing treatment), Elizabeth wrote the candid memoir Saving Graces: Finding Solace And Strength From Friends And Strangers last year as a way of dealing with the disease, as well as the death of her son Wade in 1996. Edwards takes this time out from her husband’s march toward the primaries with this BookPeople appearance, where she will read from her book and field the inevitable “How much do you wish Ann Coulter would rot in hell?” question. www.theonion.com
