Featuring freakish wunderkind Macaulay Culkin (HOME ALONE 2, ummm…) in the movie that catapulted him out of obscurity and into the arms of Michael Jackson. HOME ALONE stars Culkin as Kevin, an 8 year old boy whose entire family abandons him during the holidays, leaving him at home alone (the title is true!) while they fly to France and forget about him. Director Chris Columbus shows us the humorous side of child neglect as Kevin is forced to fend for himself, eking out a meager day-to-day subsistence, while two violent criminals (Daniel Stern, Joe Pesci) attempt to break into his house, take his belongings and kill him. Culkin won the Haley Joel Osment Award for preternaturally annoying precociousness by a tiny actor in this film, as well as a citation from the Norwegian Ministry of Culture for single-handedly resuscitating the popularity of Edvard Munch’s seminal expressionist painting “The Scream” with his now iconic mock-terrified hands-on-face expression on movie posters. The movie also features a small, but forgettable turn by Larry Hankin, the guy who played the actor who played Kramer in the fake sit-com “Jerry” on “Seinfeld”. Standby tickets are not first-come, first-serve, so there is no need to arrive before 11:15 AM on December 8. <br /><br /> <strong>BUTT-NUMB-A-THON RULES</strong><br />1) No outside food or drinks are allowed in the theater, except in instances for medically-necessary dietary requirements. If you have such a need, please coordinate with ryan@originalalamo.com. Regular food service will be available from noon til 1 AM with snack and drink service from 1 AM until 7AM or so, when a breakfast menu is available. We will have all you can drink coffee and all you can drink sodas available, too. We take cash or credit cards for food and drinks, and there is an ATM near the theater. Also, bear in mind that our waiters will be working rediculous hours for this event, so please treat them nicely and tip them well, they are one of the hardest working waitstaffs in the business. <br /><br />2) Please arrive between 10:30 and 11:15. Treat every single one of the movies with respect. Do not talk during the movie, do not even dare to let a cell phone ring, and even if it's on vibrate do not answer it in the theater. Our policy is simple: You aren't as funny as you think you are, so shut the fuck up. So it's just like your common-or-garden musical in that way. Where the film really takes off is in its subversion of sexual mores as Brad and Janet break free from their normality.<br /><br /> Richard O'Brien created "The Rocky Horror Show" for the London stage, and in addition to writing duties also shows up as butler Riff Raff. But the film belongs to Tim Curry as cross-dressing scientist Frank N Furter.<br /><br /> And if you've seen it so many times that you're tired of singing along, you can gain new thrills by seeing it at the cinema and entering the world of audience participation. Dress up! Shout at the screen and enter conversations with the characters in the film!
