Bombastic Detroit rock outfit The Dirtbombs have had countless lineup changes since forming in 1992, but there have been two constants throughout their career: A dedication to hard-hitting, R&B- and soul-infused garage rock, and frontman Mick Collins (formerly of The Gories). The Dirtbombs play loud and loose—they’re anchored by the double, thudding assault of two drummers and two bassists—but are surprisingly cohesive and focused for a group that’s endured so many personnel changes. They play here behind the new We Have You Surrounded, which was originally slated to be a five-song EP, but became a full-length record. Coming off a standout SXSW performance at the Sub Pop showcase, ’60s-influenced songwriter Kelley Stoltz opens with tracks from his new Circular Sounds. Also playing: Black Joe Lewis.

The fivepiece Dirtbombs, led by the inimitable Mick Collins, channels true garage soul power via Detroit, rolling Motor City grit for latest barn burner We Have You Surrounded (In the Red). San Francisco-based eccentric Kelley Stoltz delights in poppy, piano-based reveries on his latest Sub Pop disc, Circular Sounds. However, they have a couple of things in common: a reverence for vinyl and a total crush on 1960s rock and pop.
