Brick Tamland loves lamp. Brian Fantana thought he was in love with a Brazilian girl once. Or a Chinese girl. At any rate, it was this girl, and he made out with her. These are the men of the Channel 4 News Team, and we love them so freakin' much that we’re putting together a special Quote-Along screening of ANCHORMAN at the Ritz, where we can also try to drink-along with Ron and his scotchy scotch scotch. We'll be subtitling all of our favorite lines and encouraging everyone to yell them out as loud as possible during the movie, and during the preshow we'll be rolling a collection of our favorite news moments ever. This one should be worth coming down for solely for the Afternoon Delight singing.</p>

I've never even liked golf all that much, but I definitely would have learned if I could have had a summer like this. Not only do you get to hook up with the rich hot girl who's visiting from New York, but you get to be friends with Chevy Chase back when he was an endearing sarcastic blowhard, you get to hang out with Bill Murray, and you get to win a college scholarship with the help of explosions! Come on! <br /><br />So maybe working at a real country club isn't like that at all, but it sure should be. CADDYSHACK shows us everything that an 80s movie can be, complete with the old blowhard who doesn't like the kids and misfits who just want to have fun, the random shots of boobs when you least expect them, and, of course, quotable line after quotable line. So it's got that going for it, which is nice. And we'll make it even nicer by subtitling all of our favorite lines, bringing in special props, and starting the whole shebang with a bit of a putting competition. (Henri)</p>

Placing that character into the world of the hallowed genre of sports films just makes it all the more golden, because the underdog HAS to win in the end, even if he gets his ass handed to him by Bob Barker along the way. Christopher McDonald's Shooter McGavin tries to stop him, but Happy's 400 yard drive just proves to be too much. <br /><br />We loved the BILLY MADISON Quote-Along last year, and have been itching for an excuse to bring HAPPY GILMORE into the mix as well. We'll have subtitles on screen so we can all yell out our favorite lines (and oh my god, the moment when we scream, "The price is wrong, bitch!" will be worth the price of admission all by itself), and we'll start the show with a special golf ball driving competition. Written by director Mel Brooks and the film's star, Gene Wilder, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN has all the usual -- and in this case slightly unusual -- suspects: the reluctant scientist Frederick Frankenstein, who is actually the grandson of the infamous creature-creator (pronounced "Fronken-steen" and played by Wilder), his spoiled fiancee (Madeline Kahn), Igor the pop-eyed hunchback (Marty Feldman), his dizzy assistant (Teri Garr), the castle's hideous head housekeeper (Cloris Leachman), and, of course, the Monster (Peter Boyle). Highlights include the sets, which are the original ones used in the Whale films; the beautiful black-and-white cinematography; and the fine screenplay. Combining noirish elegance with uproarious sight gags and double entendres is a feat Brooks pulls off fabulously, directing the wonderful ensemble to act with sensitivity and humanistic feelings as well as with lunatic abandon. Sure, we can try to hate it for inspiring MEET THE SPARTANS, DISASTER MOVIE, SUPERHERO MOVIE, MOVIE PARODY MOVIE: THE MOVIE (man, I’d still pay money to see that last one) and every other box office comedy turd that they keep flushing down the throats of the mall theater going public. But god damn it, even though half of the movie is nothing but what should have been bad puns, each and every one just works so perfectly. Maybe it’s the brilliant send up of the overly dramatic disaster movies of the time. Maybe it’s Leslie Nielsen’s superb deadpanning. But my money is on the fact that it’s just plain hysterical to watch shit hit a fan.<br /><br /> As always with a Quote-Along, we’ll have all of our favorite lines subtitled on the screen so everyone can yell them out together, and we’ll have a bunch of special props to make the whole experience jump off the screen even more. Expect some paper airplane piloting contests before the movie, and don’t miss your chance to try a “Don’t Call Me Shirley” Temple – the traditionally kiddie drink made all alcoholic and defeating the whole purpose of the original. "Where's your urge to purge?"</em> This is the movie that established the teen black comedy as the ultimate way of viewing high school, and way before Lindsay Lohan learned about a new way to play through the social politics of the clique system in MEAN GIRLS, Christian Slater taught Winona Ryder that there are much more...physical ways of handling queen bees. This movie may not be as chock full of one-liners as some of the Mel Brooks types of comedies we've done as Quote-Alongs in the past, but the magic of hearing everyone say, <em>"Lick it up, baby. Lick. It. Up,"</em> all in unison should be magical enough. Littering and?" <br /><br />In 2002, the boys at Broken Lizard realized that America had been missing something we couldn't live without anymore. This was before RENO 911, remember, and in those dark days of the early millennium, it had been more than seven years since the final POLICE ACADEMY movie.<br /><br /> People were starting to forget that law enforcement in this country is run by a bunch of lovable schlubs who like to prank each other, steal drugs from the stash they confiscated, and totally hook up with each other in all sorts of awesome places (like the back of a police car).<br /><br /> But then we got to see a car full of stoners on their way to Canada pulled over when they were already pulled over and couldn't pull over any further, and we knew the world would be safe for cop comedy once again. With this SUPER TROOPERS Quote-Along, of course, we're hoping to make it dangerous...</p>

An empty-headed yet kindhearted male model, the self-absorbed Derek becomes an unwitting pawn in a international assassination plot masterminded by oddball fashion dictator Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell). Meanwhile, the clueless cover guy must also contend with a new rival, a blonde hipster named Hansel (Owen Wilson). Only adding to his troubles is Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor), an inquisitive and sensitive journalist. Stiller's charming and silly comedy liberally skewers the fashion industry while showcasing the actor-director-screenwriter's quirky humor. Because let's face it, Pop Princesses are the new Divas for our time.</p>

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (Milton, DE) has teamed up with Texas’ Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas for their third annual short film competition. <strong>This year’s “Off-Centered Film Fest” will take place April 3<sup>rd</sup> and 4<sup>th</sup> at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Lake Creek in Austin, Texas. </strong></font></div> <div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="2"> </font></div> <div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="2">The 2008 Off-Centered Film Fest marks the third film competition for Dogfish Head in as many years. “We are very excited to partner with Alamo, blow this into a 2-day film festival and bring it all to Texas,” explains Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione. “With Alamo’s off-centered approach to film and their support of great beers, we knew they were the perfect partners to make this into a full-fledged, fun time,” Calagione adds.</font></div> <div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="2"> </font></div> <div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="2">The “Off-Centered Film Fest” will screen over two nights at the Lake Creek location and will include beer dinners and other beer-related films. Alamo has nine Drafthouse Cinemas in Texas. The first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opened its doors in 1997. A unique combination of theater and restaurant, the Alamo shows the best first-run and independent films and offers an extensive menu of fresh, handmade dishes and a wide selection of beer and wine. In addition to offering this comfortable, full-service environment, the Alamo is recognized worldwide for is eclectic programming, award-winning food, and one-of-a-kind special events.
