Wednesdays are exceptionally good at The Dogwood. Come enjoy a live show by local singer/songwriter, Jonny Gray from 8-11pm on the outside stage!
With an artist this pure, it's easy to say, "let the music speak for itself." But that would be robbing you of a glimpse at the man behind the oxymoronic notes that ring both new and familiar.
This El Paso native, long-haired, liberal x-soldier honed his skills during the two tours in the blistering heat of the Iraqi desert. In June of 2006, he returned to U.S. soil to serve in San Antonio, TX where he completed his service in January of 2007. He chose to stay for a time to write, collaborate & occasionally tour with local bands. By now it was clear to see the stage was where he belonged. In 2009, Jonny returned to his solo project and soon made his way to Austin, TX to share his work with a new audience and release his first EP, "Sail it Away."
Recognized as an valuable member of the local music scene, the Mayor of Austin recently named a day after Jonny Gray in honor of the musician's contribution to the city. Visit www.jonnygray.com for more information and show dates.
