Squeeze are an English band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the New Wave period of the late 1970s, and have continued to have a successful were courting career throughout the last two decades. They are well-known in the UK for A string of hit singles, and they still continue to attract new fans. Inspired heavily by the Beatles and the Kinks, Squeeze provided one of the links between classic British guitar pop and post-punk. Emo's wraps up their anniversary week on Saturday night in style withthe influential Seattle grunge band Mudhoney. Before Nirvana began to make a name for themselves, Mudhoney began clearing the way for the new genre that would eventually become one of the biggest musical phenomenons of the 1990s. And though they would not reach the heights of fame of their Seattle-based peers, Mudhoney were at least partially responsible for the groundswell that made Kurt Cobain an era-defining icon. On January 17, 2009, all of Austin will be celebrating the end of the current administration and the inauguration of a new president. The teeming multitudes of happy celebrants will flock to AustinMusic Hall to watch live music, listen to guest speakers, and heave a colossal and communal sigh of relief. All proceeds from this charity extravaganza will benefit U.S. soldiers that have served in Iraq. Individuals with a thirst for change will flock to Austin from all over the world to be a part of the excitement and to contribute to the cause!

When: George W. Bush’s last Saturday in office (January 17, 2009)

Where: Austin, Texas. Austin Music Hall

What: Best damn party in eight years! Live music performances, guest speakers, other entertainment

Who: Thousands of jubilant ticket holders celebrating the end of the Bush administration

Why: To celebrate the inauguration of a new president, and to benefit of U.S. soldiers that have served in Iraq.
