FunkFest III:Bonerama, On The One, Flyjack, T Bird & The Breaks, Uncle Bruno

A music line -up of world class funk-meisters and two nights chock-full of music, the 3rd Annual FunkFest promises to become a signature event in this music town. Set for November 21 & 22, 2008 at The Parish, 214 E. 6^th Street.

FunkFest III

The Stanton Moore Trio with Robert Walter and Will Bernard will kick off the festival on Friday, November 21 with The Greyhounds and special guest Topaz opening the show. Friday night the doors are at 9:00 PM.

Saturday, November 22 the line up is not any less impressive with Bonerama from New Orleans, On The One from San Diego and Austin bands; Flyjack, T Bird & The Breaks and Uncle Bruno. Saturday night the doors are at 7:00 PM .

FunkFest III promises all-star special guest performances sprinkled throughout the weekend.

Down by the riverside: The Blind Boys of Alabama with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, November 23, 2008, 7:30pm: New Orleans' legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band and vocal titans the Blind Boys of Alabama join forces to present this musical journey combining jazz and gospel hymns. The Blind Boys of Alabama do gospel like no one else, and Preservation Hall instantly transports us to the Big Easy. Sharing the stage, they carry their proud musical traditions on into the future in a moving live performance.

Café Tacuba is an adventurous group from Mexico City who do a little bit of everything, and do it all very well. Their rock, folk, punk, funk, and electronic influences have been a fixture on the Mexican music scene for two decades. In 2008 the band is up for six Latin Grammy nominations, including album of the year and best alternative song. On Sunday this immensely talented and creative quartet will take the stage at Stubb's.
