Vinyl Record Day is the first nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the cultural influence, recordings and cover art of the vinyl record. The goal is to establish August 12th, the date Edison invented the phonograph in 1877, as National Vinyl Record Day. You can celebrate National Vinyl Record Day by visiting one of the record stores in Austin and purchasing some fresh new or used vinyl.
