With the overwhelming amount of last minute votes, we have decided to include the top 4 bands in the final round of the Play Pachanga! contest. Votes will be reset to zero and bands can begin pushing their fans to vote for them to play May 11th at Pachanga Festival from now until May 6th at midnight. Overview:
Urban musical earthquake Calle13 is invading Austin, TX May 11 and performing at the 5th Annual Pachanga Festival at Fiesta Gardens! This is the first Austin play for 19-time Latin and 2-time American Grammy winners Calle13 after the huge success of their album Entren Los Que Quieran. With genres spanning from reggaeton to hip hop to Bollywood to merengue to jazz and electronica, Calle13 are latin music innovators that are respected and admired by fans and musicians around the world.
Submit your best original production to the open round so that people who visit do512.com/playpachanga can hear what you're made of -- and vote for you if they like what they hear. The more votes an artist gets, the higher up on the list they'll go. The artist with the most votes at the end of the Final Round will win a spot to play live on the main stage on May 11, 2012.
This contest is totally free to enter. You can submit an original track and get your fans to voting April 17th to April 30th at midnight CST.

The Open Round - Submit An Original Track
April 17th - April 30th
From April 17th to April 30th, artists will enter the contest by submitting their best original song and begin building their artist profile page. Once posted, artists will heavily encourage their fans to vote for their submission via the website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and any other platforms available to them. Individuals can vote for each artist once per day. On April 30th at midnight CST, the open round will close and the 3 semi-finalists will be selected, comprised of the artists with the highest voter scores.
The Final Round
May 1st - May 6th
On May 1st, we will announce the 3 Artists who have made it through to the final round based on user votes. At that time, voting tallies will be wiped clean and voting will start again, continuing through May 6th at midnight CST. On May 7th, we will announce the band who has won the most votes. That band will perform May 11th on the main stage of the 5th Annual Pachanga Latin Music Festival!
Talk It Up

Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. Play Pachanga ("Contest") begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Central Standard Time ("CST") April 17th, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on May 6, 2011 ("Contest Period"). In these Official Rules, “Sponsor” means Pachanga Festival and its employees, officers, directors, members, managers, sponsors, and agents. Entries submitted after Contest Period will not be considered or judged. “Festival” means the Pachanga Festival scheduled for May 11 - 12, 2012 in Austin, TX. The winner will be announced on or about May 7, 2012.
Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Contest may only be entered from and in eligible jurisdictions. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. By participating in the Contest, you are granting Sponsor an irrevocable right and license to publish, use, edit, and display any or all of the content in your submission, without further approval, without territorial, time, or other limitations, for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes, including audio visual uses. By participating in the Contest, you are also granting Sponsor the irrevocable right and license to use your name, image, and likeness for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes, including audio visual uses.
The winners will be selected in accordance with the published judging procedure. No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted except by Sponsor in the event of prize unavailability. Prizes are non-transferable. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of Winners. Finalists (or their parents or guardians if finalists are under the age of 18) will be required to sign a waiver and release in order to perform in Austin, TX as part of this Contest.
Eligibility: Texas area residents must, upon request, show proof of residency in the state of Texas. No more than one entry per household will be eligible. No employee or immediate family member of Sponsor is eligible to enter the contest. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time.
Odds of winning. The odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received and the decisions of the judges.
General Terms and Conditions:
By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees that under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, will Sponsor, Contest sponsors, Festival sponsors, and their respective officers, directors, employees, members, shareholders, agents, successors, and assigns (the "Released Parties") be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of participation in the Contest, even if any or all of the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, therefore such exclusions may not apply to you. By participating in the Contest, entrant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to his/her/its participation in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based. By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which will be final. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person, entry, vote, or e-mail address that Sponsor determines to be in violation of any term contained in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant who has material (media submitted to contest, or otherwise associated with entrant) inappropriate for Festival exposure. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest if any problem corrupts the administration, security, or operation of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. Each person is entitled to one vote per email address per day. Votes will be removed for any artist where 15% or greater of their votes come from one IP address.
Contest Timeline:
(1) Open Round:
Artists have from April 17th - April 30th to submit their best original song to generate as many votes as possible. The Sponsor will publicly post the artist's musical submissions and the artist can spread the word everywhere: via their website, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, at their gigs, radio interviews, and more. At the end of the period, scores will be determined by voting score. The top 3 artists with the most public votes will move on to the next round.
(2) Finals:
On May 1st, the 3 artists who have made it through to the final round will be announced by the Sponsor and their voting tallies will be cleared. The voting will resume with each contestant having exactly zero votes. This final voting portion will continue until May 6th, when the artist with the most public votes will be determined by the Sponsor. That artist will then be invited by the Sponsor to play on the Main Stage at Pachanga Festival 2012.
For all submissions beginning with the open round: the person submitting an entry must own the content of the entry or have the legal authority to use the content. In the event of a dispute as to authorship or right to use, sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry, votes, or winner. Sponsor’s decisions are final. By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees that entrant shall not retain any rights in and to the master recordings (“Recordings”) and musical compositions (Compositions”) embodied on the mix submitted by entrant hereunder. As between entrant and Sponsor, any and all Recordings and Compositions submitted by entrant shall be considered works-made-for-hire, and Sponsor shall own such Recordings and Compositions, together with the performances embodied therein and all copyrights therein and thereto, and all of the results and proceeds of entrant’s services hereunder throughout the universe in perpetuity, free of any and all claims. To the extent the Recordings and Compositions are not considered works-made-for-hire, then entrant hereby transfers and assigns entrant’s entire copyright interest to Sponsor, including all renewals and extensions thereof, and waives any right of copyright termination or recapture in favor of Sponsor.

Prizes:
The winning artist(s) will play 1 (one) 30 - 45 minute live performance on the main stage of Pachanga Festival.

Standing Shadows recently spent weeks recording in the Joshua Tree
desert with Producer Chris Goss (Queens of the Stone Age, UNKLE, Duke
Spirit, The Cult) at Rancho de la Luna, with engineer Ethan Allen (Gram
Rabbit, Daniel Lanois, Spindrift). The band sweated out 3 new songs in
the ugodly desert heat. From glockenspiels & FunMachines, to keytars,
pots & pans, the band played on every instrument and surface available!
Sogs include the wild and energetic "Freakshow," epic/heartfelt "Just a
Part of Me," & the song "One by One," featuring Dave Catching (QOTSA,
Eagles of Death Metal) on guitar.
