We specialize in high quality espresso and fair trade coffees that come from local roasters Cuvee’. We strive to serve delicious food that is as locally sourced as possible, utilizing Austin’s awesome local farms as well our own on-site garden (a work in progress), all the while providing our neighbors and friends with a comfortable and inviting space to meet and dine in. We will offer homemade gluten-free pastries and well as a menu of delicious sandwiches and salads.

Additionally, we are very proud to be the official new home of Rockstar Bagels, making ours a destination for the bagel connoisseur as well those who are gluten-sensitive.

Raised in Austin, Cody Symington and Mary Jenkins, are proud to be a truly local business. We choose East Cesar Chavez as our location because we live in the neighborhood and longed for a place nearby with great coffee and food. Dedicated to serving our neighborhood first and foremost, Cenote’s location also makes it convenient for anyone passing through the downtown area.

Our building itself is a treasure. Built in 1887, our historic house appears on Austin’s very first hand-drawn map, produced for a much smaller City of Austin circa 1889. Though extensive renovations have been made to comply with the City of Austin’s building codes, the structure, design, and integrity of the building remains intact. And though it has not been an easy to task to comply with the City’s codes while preserving a building (to put it mildly!), we are incredibly proud that we received the Heritage Society of Austin’s “Merit Award for Adaptive Use” in 2011.
