Enshrinement ceremonies for the 10th Longhorn Women's Hall of Honor class and the 2009 Men’s Hall of Honor class will be held during the Texas-Kansas football game on Saturday, November 21. Brown, a two-time All-American and first-team All-Big 12 Conference selection, played for The University of Texas from 1996-2000 and still holds a number of records including: 1705 career points, 517 career assists and 257 career steals. She also remains the only individual in school history to lead the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals in the same year, an accomplishment she achieved in both her junior and senior years. In addition to numerous other basketball awards, following her senior year, Brown earned one of The University of Texas Friar Society Awards, an award given annually to three or fewer undergraduate students for distinguished contributions to The University and for bringing national recognition to the campus. As the third overall pick in the 2000 WNBA Draft, Brown spent five years with the WNBA before heading overseas to play on international teams in Austria, France, Lebanon, Spain and most recently Israel where she currently plays in the Israeli Basketball League for ASA Jerusalem. In this offseason, Brown will serve as the regional director for the South Texas Regional Lady Prodigy Camp taking place April 10-11, 2010 at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and will later serve as the director for the invitation only National Lady Prodigy Camp taking place July 29-August 2, 2010 at The University of Texas at Arlington.  The Lady Prodigy basketball camps were designed to give sixth through tenth grade competitive girl basketball players early exposure to hundreds of college coaches as well as access to top recruiting services. Participants spend two full days training and competing against the best players in their region.  They are then hand selected by each regional director to participate in the national camp.  Off the court, Brown is pursuing her passion of giving back to the community and recently founded a non-profit, MAP’D Out (Mentoring Athletes and Providing Dreams).
