      Threadgill's World Headquarters has been on the Austin scene for decades. Janis Joplin got her start singing weeknights at the flagship North Lamar location. These days, the Beergarden on Riverside is home to a nice balance of local acts and smaller touring shows. more at CultureMap Austin

      Dear threadgills, I will be going to Austin for vacation and saw a documentary about New Orleans Jazz musicians ,such as the Neville brother and other jazz, blues artists. When are they playing so I can go. J. suarez
