Hours: Monday - Friday 11 am - 5 pm Saturday 11 am - 6 pm Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm
We opened Yard Dog Gallery in Austin, TX, in September 1995. The gallery’s roots are in folk and outsider art from North America, especially the Deep South, but we show art by many contemporary artists who work in a folky, funky vernacular. The art we show is maximalist: colorful, edgy, representational.

September 17, 2009Trying to pin a cohesive genre tag on Bloodshot Records’ label showcase is a fool’s errand—most of what the local label puts out gets slapped with the “alt-country” term, but set side by side, there’s little else to connect the bright, guitar-driven songs of Alejandro Escovedo with, say, Scott H.
