Record Store Day 2019 will take place on Saturday, April 13th. The annual event occurs every third Saturday in April, when record stores nationwide unveil limited, special releases, slash prices, and host in-store performances. As usual, Austin has a handful of record stores participating in the event including End of an Ear, Waterloo Records, Breakaway Records, Antone's Records and more. Record Store Day is a perfect opportunity to expand your collection and taste - get the most out of it with this guide.

How to Do Record Store Day in Austin:
And of course, the city of Austin offers something unique to Record Store Day with the "Indie Crawl," a special deal where you can make a purchase at one store and take your receipt to another store for a discount. So when you're done browsing the shelves at End of an Ear, take your receipt down to Waterloo Records and get a discount! Hell, if you're feeling super dedicated, you could visit every store in Austin with such a cool special.

With its plethora of special releases and great prices, Record Store Day is a perfect time to spruce up your vinyl collection and discover new music. Can you think of a better way to spend a Saturday than browsing the shelves of local record stores for limited edition vinyl? Yeah, we didn't think so. For the 12th Record Store Day, End of An Ear is opening their doors to record lovers. Come by at 10 am to pack into a full day of combing through genre-specific LPs or arrive whenever you feel like it for a casual Saturday excursion. The only hold-back is you're limited to one item per title, so make it a good one!

2019 marks the sixth year in a row that Tito’s Handmade Vodka has collaborated with Record Store Day. This year, Tito’s and Record Store Day are releasing two limited edition vinyl records with a portion of record proceeds benefiting Musicians On Call. The first special released vinyl is Sun Records Curated By Record Store Day, Volume 6, including legendary female musicians like Jeannie C. Riley, Betty Harris, Evie Sands and Bettye LaVette. You can also cop their other limited edition vinyl, "In The Garage: Live Music from WTF with Marc Maron," featuring music from artists like Jason Isbell, Melissa Etheridge, Ben Harper, J Mascis and Aimee Mann. Come out from 7 to 10 pm to help benefit Musicians On Call while also enjoying some pizza and amazing music.

Looking for motivation to get your butt out of bed before 8 am? Listen to this: free kolaches, coffee and a 7" vinyl. For Record Store Day 2019, Waterloo Records is doing all that for the first 100 people in line. If you would rather sleep in, you can still come by later for a free drink from Austin Beerworks.
