Austin Flood Relief: Ways You Can Help

Central Texas was recently hit with damaging floods. To support our neighbors who have been affected, the local community is working together to help clean up, assist in recovery efforts, and donate proceeds from several benefit concerts in the Austin area. ROCK 'N' RESTOCK FEAT. SHAKEY GRAVES

THURSDAY, JUNE 18 AT THE BELMONT


Rock 'n' Restock is a community collaboration to RESTOCK the shelves of the Capital Area Food Bank. The lineup features Shakey Graves and The Digital Wild at The Belmont. The goal is to raise over $5,000. 


Hays Co. Food Bank Flood Benefit 

Thursday, June 18 at Moontower Saloon


Featuring Weldon Hensen, Eddie & the Evereadys, Andy Macintyre, and Salt Lick barbecue. This donation-based event gives all proceeds to the Hays County Food Bank.


Rockin’ the Recovery 

Saturday, June 20 at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley


Featuring Sarah Jarosz, Shake Russell, Kim Miller, and more. All proceeds from the event will go to My Neighbor's Keeper. 


Austin for Wimberley Flood Benefit

Saturday, June 20 at Sweetwater


Join us at Sweetwater on June 20 for an auction, raffle and benefit show in support of all the friends and families who lost their homes and personal effects. Proceeds will go directly to people through Barnabas Connection in Wimberley, TX.


FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN

Friday, June 26 at Rockin' Y Ranch


Five of Austin's top meat-centric chefs will compete in a classic chili showdown at the Rockin' Y Ranch, benefiting the Austin Disaster Relief Network. Participating chefs include Andrew Wiseheart (Contigo), Zack Nortchutt (Swift's Attic), Josh Jones (Salt & Time), Carlos Ysaguirre (Jacoby's), and Barrett Black (Black's BBQ). Food and drink included with your ticket.


FLOOD AID TX CONCERT

SUNDAY, JUNE 28 AT PALMER EVENTS CENTER


Ray Benson, Jack Ingram, and more How much: $35 All proceeds go to the United Way of Hays County Flood Relief Fund and Austin Disaster Relief Network.


The Austin Disaster Relief Network: 


The Austin Disaster Relief Network is raising donations to help flood victims. Funds will be distributed directly to families. To make a donation, visit this website. The Austin Disaster Relief at Work will be accepting donations at 1905 S Capitol Texas Highway. The warehouse will open, Wed, May 27th to begin receiving donations from the community. Hours of operation will be Mon-Sat, 9AM-9PM and Sun, 2PM-9PM.


American Red Cross of Central Texas: 


You can donate by check, in person, by phone using your credit or debit card, or simply text REDCROSS to 90999. Visit their website for more information on how to donate.


Salvation Army: 


The Salvation Army uses 100% of all disaster donations in support of disaster relief operations. There are multiple ways to support The Salvation Army local response to the Central Texas flooding: Find them online at salvationarmyaustin.org.


United Way: 


The United Way of Greater Austin has made it easy to help flood victims. Text UWATX to 85944 or give online at UWATX.org/flood.


Hays County Food Bank:


Collecting items for disaster at Cabela’s, Barton Middle School, and multiple other locations. See the list of locations and must-needed items at haysfoodbank.org.


CAPITAL AREA FOOD BANK:


The Food Bank is on the front lines of disaster relief, providing emergency water to the Hays County Food Bank and preparing emergency food boxes for our pantries serving affected communities. Every $1 donated provides 3 nutritious meals for Central Texas families affected by the floods. Designate your gift for current disaster relief efforts or where your support is needed most. SMALL BUSINESS RECOVERY RESOURCES:


The City of Austin's Small Business Program provides disaster preparedness and disaster recovery resources to the small business community. If you need access to computers, printing, or phones, visit the Small Business Program's Business Solutions Center to continue your daily business responsibilities. See details here.


Donation Items for Residents of Wimberley 


Individuals interested in dropping off donated items for the flood recovery effort are asked to deliver their donations to the Donation Center that has been set up in the old Target Store located at 200 Springtown Way in San Marcos. Items needed include bottled water, non-perishable snack foods, large storage containers with lids, large heavy duty trash bags, flashlights with batteries, can openers, tools, and laundry baskets.
