In Austin, we know what it means to brunch.
Brunch | noun, verb | A meal combining breakfast and lunch that Austin does particularly well. Normally occurs between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm to accommodate late sleepers and nightlife shenanigans. Typically includes alcoholic beverages to help kick off Sunday day drinking. "So where are we brunching this weekend?"

Brunch essentials? Refreshing cocktails, killer sweet and savory dishes, and a great vibe. One of our top picks that nails it is Launderette, a café in East Austin's charming Holly neighborhood. Kick off with their "Sweet Thangs" like Pull-Apart Cinnamon Rolls or Zucchini Bread with cultured butter and Maldon salt. Then, dive into something like the Asparagus Benny, featuring a sourdough English muffin, poached eggs, pancetta, and truffle hollandaise. Weekend brunch runs every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:15 PM.

Whether you're an Austin local or just visiting for the weekend, brunch in Clarksville is always a solid plan. Josephine House is the perfect place to kick things off, with one of the prettiest patios in the city. The real star, though, is the food—think Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches, Steak & Eggs, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and more.

One of the best South Austin bars also serves some of the tastiest food in town, especially on their brunch menu. The Little Darlin' has a massive yard with games, tables, and a stage for live music, plus an indoor area for those scorching days. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM, featuring dishes like French Toast Bread Pudding and Fried Quail & Waffles, alongside classic brunch drinks. Whether you opt for a savory chicken biscuit sandwich or a sweet order of buttermilk pancakes, you really can't go wrong at Better Half (especially if you order a bloody mary or a mimosa). Brunch here pairs best with a side order of cauliflower tots or donut holes. Take it from the pros. When you're done with your awesome brunch, walk next door and grab a drink from their brewery, Hold Out Brewing. They are both run by the same culinary team, so you can check them out another time for another yummy brunch option.

This antique-chic spot housed in a historical building on the east side prides themselves on their farm fresh, seasonal ingredients. Hillside Farmacy sources their produce from local spots like their sister farm out in Bastrop. The brunch menu features snacks like a Brûlée grapefruit or oysters and mains like a fried egg sandwich or steak & eggs. This can all be enjoyed on their picture-perfect patio or inside their dining room, a restored drugstore from the 1920s.

Paperboy is THE hottest new spot where you can find one of the best brunches in Austin. Paperboy started as a food trailer and eventually moved into a brick-and-mortar spot as their popularity grew. Their OG location on 11th has a cute rooftop where you can get a nice buzz going while eating unique brunch dishes like Texas Hash made with roasted pork, sweet potato, and a pecan mole or Pho Grits with beef cheek, a poached egg, and pickled jalapeno. Don't miss out on their made-in-house pastries that are always changing. Plan ahead and make a reservation because they get super busy on the weekends.

It isn’t uncommon to see a long line formed outside of Arturo’s – and for good reason. This underground cafe, though small, is a hip space decorated with interesting art on the colorful walls. The weekend brunch menu includes such staples as eggs benedict, french toast and breakfast scrambles. Arturo’s has been an Austin favorite since 1996 even though it is only open for breakfast, lunch and, of course, brunch.

Gabriela’s – run by siblings Gabriela and Arturo – serves up a tasty Michoacán-inspired menu with aesthetic, colorful cocktails. The menu includes the siblings’ family recipes, all made fresh daily. Plus, the cocktail menu boasts individual mimosas for $3 or a bottle of champagne and a mimosa set-up for $25. Or just start early with some margs, we're not judging.
