There's really nothing quite like entering your favorite watering hole and washing down a burger with a beer.
Bar food has the distinct advantage of being eaten after we’ve had a few. But the pub cuisine we’re about to introduce you to doesn’t need beer goggles. Craving the best eats to accompany your libations? These bars have got you covered. You can also take a look at some of our favorite food trucks at bars around Austin here.

South Shore neighborhood bar, Frazier's Long & Low, is always an immediate go-to when wanting a cold beer and some really solid food. Starting off with the wings, you can choose 1 or 2 flavors, like Tangy Korean, Lemon Pepper, Dr. Pepper Chipotle BBQ, and more. After some wings, consider trying a hot dog, fried pickles, or one of their OG burgers. Craving a chopped cheese late night? No worries, their kitchen stays open until 2am. And besides great drinks and food they also have pool tables, shuffleboard, and a jukebox, so stay awhile.

Maybe you don’t equate karaoke with bar food, but this well-known spot for sangin’ and drankin’ is about to change your mind. The serenading queue at Common Interest fills up quick, so we encourage you to show up a little early and call dibs on your favorite karaoke song. While you wait, check out the next-level fries and nachos. Sometimes the least photogenic bar food is also the most delicious, and that's all we're gonna say about the cheese-laden offerings at this bar.

Looking for burgers and curated beer? Then you’ve come to the right spot. Located on North Loop and surrounded by other noteworthy local businesses, Workhorse is a must see for the dive lover. While their menu may seem like burgers, burgers, and more burgers with a side of rotating specialty burgers (how awesome is that?), they actually offer a good assortment of vegetarian options (equally awesome). Workhorse delivers a chill, memorable experience perfect for a relaxed night with pals.

Luxe cocktails and next level delectables in a cush atmosphere summarize this posh pub. DrinkWell is the perfect combo of swanky and inviting; you’ll come for happy hour and stay for the phenomenal service. Touted as a gastropub, DrinkWell's foodstuffs range from cheese boards to crispy Brussels sprouts. Known for their DW Burger and fries, they also have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. The ancho roasted chickpeas are downright addicting.

Our prescription for the pub food hangries includes their Cobra Burger, the Avocado Reuben, and, last but definitely not least, Frito pie. Take note! It’s been said they have the best veggie burger in Austin.
